The Daily Show
For this weeks blog, I was going to post a video in regards to a comment that a very nice wordpress user posted on my blog last week regarding Wal-mart being on a Daily Show episode with Jon Stewart. My whole intentions was to post the video on wordpress however, it will not accept videos except for a few video websites and I could only find the video in the archives of thedailyshow.com, not even on YouTube which I was surprised about. The video is called “Union Jacked” and I will post the link where you can look at the video yourselves and I highly recommend you do since it takes the social justice issues surrounding Wal-Mart in a more comedic way and if you watch the Daily Show, you know what I mean.
A brief summary of the show is a Wal-Mart store in Quebec closed down a few years ago due to a disgruntled employee starting a workers union at the store. Officials from Wal-Mart denied that the store closed down due to the union formation but for other vague reasons. Wal-Mart employees at the store were unhappy regarding low worker wages. Yes, the taping of the video is almost a joke but I believe that the video still has a point to Wal-Mart’s intention for its employees, no unions, no workers rights, and low poverty wages.

Please watch the video and feel free to comment back on this page about it. Thanks

That video though comedic does have a point, Wal-Mart is exploiting low wage workers trying to survive, I especially liked the part when they said the closing was due to financial reasons and not the possible formation of a union, the largest retail chain in the world having financial problems enough to where they had to close that particular store is comedic in itself.
